Map the work
Follow a load of laundry from basket to machine to drying and folding. Put supplies where they remove steps from that path.
Plan for awkward items
An ironing board, vacuum, mop and refill bottles rarely fit the tidy photographs. Give these large items a safe home before buying small containers.
Buy containers last
Use temporary boxes for a fortnight. Once the categories prove useful, measure the space and buy only what fits the job.
